Laser-cut holes, slots, copes, notches and miter features can reduce layout time and improve repeatability in welded tube assemblies. Protech offers tube laser cutting with square-tube capability up to 8 × 8 inches.
Tube laser cutting can eliminate a large amount of manual drilling, coping, notching and layout work. Holes and slots can be positioned from the CAD model, while end cuts and copes can be shaped for the adjoining tube or fabricated component.
For repeat assemblies, those built-in features can make fixtures simpler and fit-up more consistent. Protech can quote tube cutting by itself or use it as part of a complete welded assembly.
3D geometry is especially helpful when the tube part includes multiple faces, angled features or compound end cuts.
Include the tube profile, outside dimensions, wall thickness, material and quantity so the job can be reviewed accurately.
If the cut tube becomes part of a weldment, Protech can also quote fitting, welding and related fabrication.
Protech lists tube laser capability up to 8 × 8 inch square tube. Other shapes and sizes should be reviewed with the shop before quoting.
Tube laser processing is well suited to holes, slots and other features located around a tube profile. Send the STEP/STP geometry and tube specifications for review.
